We're looking for a Social Value Manager to join our Scottish Construction business. This role is integral to ensuring the delivery of meaningful social value across the regional projects, working effectively with site teams, preconstruction teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Location: Stepps, Glasgow, Scotland
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, can consider flexibility if required.
What will you be responsible for?
The Social Value Manager will oversee social value delivery across the region, ensuring the social value team is effective and managing all social value risks. Core duties include but are not limited to:
* Delivering and implementing the local construction sustainability strategy in collaboration with the wider sustainability team.
* Leading regional events and initiatives to promote social value.
* Managing the regional social value team, chairing meetings, allocating resources, and being accountable for targets and reporting.
* Driving supply chain engagement in social value initiatives.
* Supporting Social Value Advisors in creating plans, delivering site social value, and responding to tenders.
* Overseeing communication and marketing related to social value.
* Providing BU KPIs to the construction centre and ensuring targets are met with risks mitigated.
* Participating in Social Impact Leadership Team meetings.
* Owning at least one subject as an SME and creating resources like templates, case studies, and educational materials.
* Engaging in STEM volunteering activities and training others.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you can demonstrate:
* High-level subject matter expertise as a Social Value champion, advising stakeholders on community issues.
* Expertise in the Social Value Act, local authority drivers, and relevant frameworks.
* Strong communication skills across all levels, encouraging two-way dialogue.
* An organized, systematic approach with flexibility to adapt to changing tasks.
* The ability to drive strategy and delivery, managing workloads effectively.
* Building alliances internally and externally to meet strategic goals.
* Experience in managing projects and events.
* Knowledge of the construction or built environment industry is advantageous.
* Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel across Scotland.
