Roles : Automation Engineer Location : Newtown Salary : Up to £50,000 depending on experience My client is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with strong electrical and robotics expertise to support the design, maintenance, optimisation, and development of automated systems within a manufacturing / industrial environment. The role will focus on improving equipment performance, reliability, safety, and efficiency through effective automation solutions. Responsibilities include: Design, program, commission, and support automated control systems for production and process equipment. Provide electrical and automation support for PLC, HMI, and robotic systems. Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, and control system faults to minimise downtime. Support commissioning of new machinery, automation upgrades, and capital projects. Modify and improve existing control programs to enhance performance, safety, and reliability. Work with robotics systems including programming, troubleshooting, and optimisation. Ensure all automation and electrical work complies with safety standards, regulations, and best practices. Maintain accurate documentation, including electrical drawings, software backups, and change records. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support continuous improvement. Skills and Experience: Qualification in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering, or equivalent experience. Proven experience working with industrial automation systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of PLC systems Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar. Experience with robotic systems like Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar. Good understanding of electrical control panels, wiring, schematics, and fault finding.
