About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
* Start Date: Immediate
* Location: Cheshire
* Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other additional learning needs. You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students achieve their full academic and social potential in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
* Implement strategies outlined in students’ EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
* Support the emotional, social, and academic development of students
* Carry out personal care duties when required
* Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
* Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
* Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Psychology degree, or equivalent)
* Experience supporting individuals with SEN (in education, care, or voluntary settings)
* Calm, patient, and compassionate approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
