Senior Accountant – Capital and Strategic Projects
Financial Management at Lancashire County Council.
Salary £46,142 – £51,356 per annum. Permanent, Full‑time, 37 hours per week.
Location: Preston, Lancashire (with remote/home working available).

Job Summary
A dynamic and innovative Senior Accountant to work within Financial Management at Lancashire County Council. You will be responsible for the Capital Programme budgets across the County Council and will support strategic projects. You will manage a team of experts, decipher where funds are allocated, and advise services to prioritise and allocate funding. The role requires decisiveness, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence senior colleagues and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Report findings and details to Heads of Service, Directors, and external boards.
* Manage and support the Capital Programme budgets and strategic projects.
* Decipher where funds are allocated and work with services to determine needs.
* Advise and support services to prioritise, make decisions, and allocate funding under restricted finances.
* Lead and manage a team of experts, harnessing talent to deliver high quality advice.
* Respond to ad hoc queries and ensure swift and competent resolution.
