Trainee Sales Engineer Technical Systems Crewe (near Woore) Employer: Leading manufacturer of engineered products and systems.
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Sales Engineer to join our growing technical sales and engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineering-qualified candidate (Graduate/HNC/HND/BTEC) who enjoys problem solving, has strong numerical ability and wants to build a long-term career in technical sales within a supportive environment providing engineered system solutions across construction, utilities, distribution and industrial sectors.
Role: Support the Sales Engineers in providing technical guidance, system selection advice and cost-effective recommendations for customer applications. You will learn how to interpret technical information, prepare quotations and assist with tenders, all while developing confidence in customer communication and solution-building.
Key Duties: Respond to incoming enquiries via phone and email (no cold calling).
Gather customer requirements and assist with technical recommendations.
Support the preparation of quotations, proposals and tender documentation.
Learn to size and specify engineered systems based on application needs.
Liaise with engineering, design and project teams to ensure accurate solutions.
Build strong relationships with new and repeat customers as your knowledge develops.
Skills & Profile: Engineering qualification (Graduate/HNC/HND/BTEC) or practical engineering background.
Strong maths skills and a logical, analytical approach.
Confident communicator, comfortable speaking with customers over the phone.
Demonstrable interest in engineering practical hobbies or hands-on experience desirable.
Organised, accurate and eager to learn with a commercial mindset.
No previous sales experience required; full training provided.
