About the role

This fixed‑term secondment to March 2027 will place an Occupational Therapist within the North Angus community rehabilitation team, based at Stracathro Hospital, Brechin. The role will require community based work, with occasional clinical input to elective surgical wards at Stracathro Hospital and medicine for the elderly rehabilitation wards at Whitehills Health Care and Community Centre. The team drives quality improvement and supports continued professional development using Turas.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a complex and varied community caseload with confidence and clinical expertise.
* Provide clinical input to elective surgical wards at Stracathro Hospital and to medicine for the elderly rehabilitation wards at Whitehills Health Care and Community Centre.
* Support and educate others, leading change and being involved in quality improvement.
* Engage in continued professional development and use Turas for CPD.
Qualifications & Experience
* Graduated with a BSc/Dip COT in Occupational Therapy.
* Signed up with the HCPC and have previously worked on a postgraduate level.
* Willingness to travel across the locality to visit patients in their own environments and occasionally to other service sites in Forfar and Arbroath for meetings and clinical support.
* Excellent collaborative skills, leadership experience and a proven ability to lead change.
Working Hours & Terms
Band 6/7 (banding dependent on experience). 37 hours per week (part‑time hours will be considered). From 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full‑time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week; there will be no change in full‑time pay.
