Make a difference every day with PDSA About Us Join us to help keep even more people and pets together when times are tough. For over a century, PDSA have provided vital veterinary care for the pets of people in financial hardship. We’re now on a journey to expand our reach to support even more people and their beloved pets. To achieve this ambitious goal, we need passionate and driven individuals who are ready to embrace change and help shape a future-focused PDSA. Together, we'll build a stronger organisation to ensure our services help those who need us most for the next hundred years. If you're ready to make a real difference and be part of a team that's creating positive change, we want you to join us. Let's build a brighter future for pets and their owners, together. About you We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who is adaptable, pragmatic and resilient, with a genuine passion for animal welfare and charity practice. You will be confident managing a varied caseload, making evidence-based clinical decisions and creating realistic treatment plans that balance patient welfare with owner circumstances. Experience within a charity setting would be advantageous, although it is not essential. Strong communication skills are essential. You'll be able to build trust with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and work collaboratively with colleagues across both sites. You'll thrive in a busy environment, enjoy problem solving and take a practical approach to delivering the highest possible standard of care. Most importantly, you'll be a supportive team player who enjoys working alongside others and contributing positively to the culture and success of the hospital. About the role We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team on a 12 month fixed term contract, working across PDSA Hendon Pet Hospital and Edmonton Green Pet Clinic. This is a full time position offering an excellent opportunity to work within a busy charity environment where no two days are ever the same. You'll experience a varied caseload, from routine preventative healthcare through to complex medical and surgical cases, allowing you to make a real difference to pets and owners who rely on our services. The role is primarily based at Hendon Pet Hospital, with regular rota commitments at Edmonton Green Pet Clinic, typically around one day per week. Edmonton Green operates as a branch clinic and therefore includes periods of sole charge consulting, making this an ideal opportunity for a vet who enjoys autonomy and clinical decision making while still being fully supported by an experienced wider team. Working within our fast paced environment, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across both medicine and surgery, with dedicated operating shifts built into the rota. Work pattern & rota We recognise the importance of achieving a healthy work life balance and offer a rota designed to support this.
