Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the companys global operations.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues, supporting day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Assist in managing compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
* Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and associated legal and regulatory issues.
* Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, risk-aware legal advice aligning with business objectives.
* Create presentations and articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal/regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
* Proficiency in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial agreements across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex files.
* Capable of balancing legal risks with business growth needs in a fast-paced, global environment.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and excellent in communication and organization skills.
