Role: Early Years Assistant
Hourly Rate: £13.68 – £15.00
Location: York
We are working on behalf of a friendly, community-focused nursery in York that is seeking to appoint an Early Years Assistant. This welcoming setting is dedicated to providing a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow.
This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children in the earliest stages of their development. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on previous experience, you’ll be part of a supportive team that values creativity, play, and curiosity.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a warm and patient manner, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in early childhood education. A willingness to learn and be hands-on is essential – no two days are ever the same!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting children in their day-to-day learning, play, and routines
2. Assisting with activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development
3. Creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where children feel safe and valued
4. Working closely with nursery staff to meet each child’s individual needs
5. Promoting positive relationships with parents and carers
