SEND Key Worker
Location: Remote (with flexibility to work across the local authority area if needed)
Contract: Initially 6 months, full-time
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £250 per day (Umbrella)
About the Role
A local authority is seeking an experienced SEND Key Worker to join their EHC Assessment & Planning Team. This role is crucial in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing person‑centred support and helping families access the right services.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
* Coordinate and facilitate assessments and develop outcome‑focused EHC plans.
* Conduct annual reviews in line with statutory requirements.
* Work collaboratively with families, schools, social care, and health professionals.
* Maintain accurate records, data, and documentation in line with policies and procedures.
* Identify, negotiate, and coordinate support packages, including personal budgets where applicable.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation, SEND Code of Practice, and relevant policies.
Person Specification
* Experience working with children or young people with SEND or disabilities.
* Knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory EHC processes, and safeguarding requirements.
* Strong communication, organisational, and record‑keeping skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi‑agency teams.
* NVQ3 or equivalent in education, social care, child care, or a related discipline (or willingness to undertake).
