Day Shift Area Manager Monday to Friday - 06:00 - 15:00 West Midlands £45,000 I am representing a fast-growing food manufacturer based in the West Midlands. They are a leader in their field, and due to sustained growth, they are looking for a dynamic and engaging Day Shift Area Manager to join their production team. This is a critical role focused on driving performance, upholding standards, and most importantly, leading and motivating people. Your Mission Your core purpose is to lead your team of supervisors and operatives to meet and exceed production targets, measured in KGs and packs per hour. But this is a role of two halves: it's not just about pace; it's about standards. You will be the champion for quality, food safety, and people safety on your shift, ensuring every product that leaves your area is fully compliant with specifications and food safety regulations. What You'll Own Team Leadership: Managing, engaging, and motivating your team(s) to achieve their full potential. You'll be responsible for building a positive, high-performing culture. Production Targets: Ensuring your shift consistently meets its production goals and agreeing on the production plan with the Site Planner/Production Manager. Food Safety & Quality: Taking full accountability for the adherence to all CCPs, HACCP controls, and quality manual pre-requisites. You will ensure product conditions are maintained (e.g., Accurate Records: Guaranteeing that all essential production and quality paperwork is completed accurately and in real-time. Health & Safety: Maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring all H&S rules are adhered to by all staff. Culture: Driving a 'clean as you go' culture and ensuring all cleaning schedules are maintained. People Management: Managing employee holidays, performance, and disciplinary procedures up to the 1st written warning level with HR support. This Is for You If You're an experienced food industry leader. You have a proven track record of managing teams in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Ideally, you have meat production experience. Knowledge of this specific sector would be a significant advantage. You're a natural motivator. You know how to engage a team and get the best out of people, even under pressure. Your standards are non-negotiable. You have a deep understanding of food safety, HACCP, and quality compliance. You're a strong, fair leader. You are comfortable managing performance, coaching your supervisors, and handling disciplinary matters professionally. You're commercially minded.
