The Opportunity
The firm's award-winning Private Client & Tax Group is seeking a Probate Executive to manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters. You'll work closely with a client base that includes HNW individuals, entrepreneurs, trustees, family offices, and international clients - particularly those with connections to the US and Middle East.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive, empathetic, and detail-oriented probate specialist to join a team that blends technical excellence with a genuinely human approach.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of taxable and non-taxable probate and estate administration files from instruction through to completion
Prepare legal documentation including wills, IHT forms, estate accounts, and probate applications
Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, HMRC, and the Probate Registry
Deliver clear, professional, and empathetic advice to clients, often in sensitive circumstances
Ensure regulatory compliance across AML, GDPR, and internal procedures
Collaborate with other teams and contribute to business development initiatives
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience managing probate and estate administration matters
Strong knowledge of inheritance tax, estate accounting, and the probate process
Excellent client care and communication skills
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office
Desirable:
STEP, CILEx or similar professional qualification
Experience in wills, LPAs, and Court of Protection matters
Background in private client work within a law firm
