This newrole of Patient Database Administrator will support the clinical administrationand IT teams to ensure the EMIS clinical records system is configured,maintained and developed to enable clinical teams to keep safe, effective dataand focus on their vital roles of caring for patients and their families.

We areseeking a Patient Database Administrator with:

* Experience of using softwareapplications and solving problems within them
* An information technology orsystems related subject qualification
* Experience working withsensitive and confidential data
* A logical and problem-solvingmindset
* Excellent verbal and writtencommunication
* Skills in using all Microsoftsystems including the full 365 suite of products

This rolewill include the need to travel to our Warwick site and occasionallyour Rugby site, from a regular base at Coventry.

This role will require a standard DBS check because it involves working in an adult healthcare environment.

Other rolesyou may have experience of might include: Database Administrator, System Administrator, IT Helpdesk Assistant and Clinical Office Administrator.


Main duties of the job

As our Patient Database Administrator, a typical day might include:

* Following our structured change process to implement EMIS system changes and enhancements
* Providing reliable and approachable first line support for EMIS system users in response to problem resolution tickets they have raised
* Configuring templates, documents and screens relating to other clinical team activities in line with hospice requirements
* Testing, documenting and communicating any system changes clearly
* Supporting clinical teams maintain their data quality
* Helping clinical service system champions keep up to date and competent with relevant EMIS processes, and help them train new champions

This role will support our work by keeping our critical patient database system correctly configured, user-friendly and accurate, enabling all our clinical staff to care safely and effectively for people diagnosed with terminal illnesses and their families.

Job responsibilities

Role Purpose:

Working alongside the Project and Application Support Analyst, the Systems Administrator will ensure the EMISclinical system is configured, maintained, and developed to support safe,effective, and compassionate end-of-life care. The role will workcollaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams, ensuring digital systemsenable staff to focus on what matters most caring for patients and theirfamilies.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

* Implement EMIS system changes, and enhancements using structured changemanagement processes.
* Configure templates, caseloads, documents,appointments, and protocols in line with hospice requirements.
* Test, document, and communicate system changesclearly, supporting staff confidence and adoption.
* Provide reliable and approachable first-linesupport for EMIS users in response to tickets that have been raised, alongsidethe clinical administration team, responding with patience, empathy, andprofessionalism.
* Support clinical teams in maintaining their data qualityand consistency across the organisation.
* Take personal responsibility for maintaining systemstandards and escalating risks appropriately.
* Support clinical administrators and the relevantclinical teams resolving the issues identified through the data quality reports.
* Supportthe service champions to ensure they remain competent and up to date with theEMIS processes relevant to their area, including helping train new champions.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* 4 GCSEs grade A C inc maths & English or equivalent
* Professional/ vocational qualification in an information technology or systems related subject
* A level or further post 16 education qualifications


Experience

* Working in an ICT or digital service environment
* Administration of software applications
* Problem solving relating to software applications
* Sharing knowledge with end users of systems to build their understanding and confidence
* Working with sensitive and confidential data
* Operating and working with a range of Microsoft systems including all Core 365 products
* Working in a healthcare setting
* Creating system related training guides for end-users


Other

* Ability to travel between Coventry and Warwick Myton sites when needed
* The right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)


Skills and Attributes

* Logical, problem-solving mindset
* Ability to self-prioritise work
* Ability to input, extract and interpret information from IT systems

£24,007 to £25,171 a year(FTE). £16,004 to £16,780 (Until March 2026)
