Role & responsibilities:
As an apprentice Inspector, the candidate will be learning to inspect seamless steel cylinders and cylinder components in accordance with specifications and engineering drawings. This will be aided by the use of various inspection equipment such as micrometres, Verniers and gauges etc. whilst undergoing your training, which is a mixture of full-time at the AMRC training centre followed by day release and on-the-job training.
Once qualified, the candidate will be performing in-process inspection checks on products in a safe and controlled manner, meeting all quality specifications whilst satisfying productivity requirements and in compliance with engineering drawings and associated specifications. Ensure that equipment is maintained, relevant records are up-to-date and that all processes work effectively to ensure that the business can fulfil its aims.

Training
Training to be Provided
You will study on a Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
