Sewell Wallis are working with a well‑established and reputable accountancy practice based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. We are looking to recruit a Payroll Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroll professional with a background in practice or payroll bureau work, who enjoys managing end‑to‑end payroll processes and delivering an excellent service to a wide range of clients.

What will you be doing?
* Managing the end‑to‑end payroll process for multiple clients, including weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls.
* Ensuring accurate processing of statutory deductions such as PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
* Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC and assisting with year‑end processes.
* Administering pension auto‑enrolment and liaising with providers.
* Maintaining accurate and compliant payroll records and documentation.
* Acting as the main point of contact for client payroll queries, ensuring a professional and timely response.
* Keeping up to date with UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
What skills are we looking for?
* Proven experience in a payroll role within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
* Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Organised and able to work effectively to multiple deadlines.
* Proficient in payroll systems and Excel.
