Construction Senior Associate – 4 PQE Top-Tier Full-Service Law Firm | Leeds The Firm A well-regarded, full-service law firm with over 700 people across multiple UK offices, known for a progressive, people-first culture. The firm acts for an impressive breadth of clients — from major multinationals and household-name brands to ambitious start-ups — across a wide range of sectors. The Team You'll be joining a Construction team that sits within a broader Real Estate and Construction practice with a strong market reputation. The team advises across advertising, marketing, retail, hospitality, leisure, and large-scale residential and commercial development. The work is genuinely varied — corporate occupier HQ moves, office fit-outs, and major development projects — spanning both transactional and contentious matters. This role is part of a deliberate investment in growing the firm's Northern presence, and you'll be joining an established Leeds office with the backing of a wider national team. The Role The balance of work is predominantly non-contentious, with some contentious exposure. Day-to-day you'll be involved in: Drafting and negotiating amendments to standard form contracts (JCT, FIDIC, NEC), collateral warranties, third party rights, performance bonds and parent company guarantees Handling consultant appointments and subcontracts (industry form and bespoke) Due diligence on collateral warranty packages for commercial tenants Supporting on construction aspects of agreements for lease and licences to alter Drafting fit-out contracts, novation agreements, letters of intent and pre-construction services agreements Contract risk reviews for contractors and consultants during tenders Advising on disputes — termination, insolvency, payment issues, extension of time and defects claims Assisting with adjudications and other dispute proceedings Drafting term maintenance agreements Who They're Looking For Essential: At least 4 years' PQE in a Construction team Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills Commercially minded, proactive and client-focused Confident taking ownership of matters and dealing directly with clients A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others Desirable: Experience advising tenants on office relocations An interest in business development and growing a regional practice How to Apply Please contact Kim Wilkes at Think Legal Recruitment for a confidential chat. kim@thinklegalrecruitment.com
