Key Responsibilities Support areas of our annual monitoring assessment approach for the RIIO price controls, including analysis of company performance in relation to specific categories of expenditure and the outputs we set under the RIIO-2 price control framework and examining variations in performance against regulatory targets. Engage with network companies on technical aspects of their submissions and participate in direct discussions to help gain a deeper understanding of the factors influencing the delivery of the RIIO-2 programme. Liaise with network companies (e.g. via sector working groups) on a regular basis to help refine and develop our approach to cost assessment. Provide support and assistance to the preparation of oral and written briefings to Networks and Ofgems boards and committees on key issues - working closely with policy, regulation finance and legal colleagues. Support effective project management to ensure delivery of your work. Drafting consultation and decision documents. Have the opportunity to represent Ofgem at relevant industry events, seminars and working groups. Respond to changing priorities and helping manage organisational risk, by being flexible to embrace new workstreams across sector price controls. This could include using your analytical skills to support the assessment of specific network projects that might require additional funding after the price control is set. Or supporting briefings and analysis in the event of appeal of the price control settlement(s). Key Outputs & Deliverables Assess the performance of the network companies against RIIO-2 targets and obligations. Assist in the processes for monitoring and reporting of specific cost, funding and incentive areas within the RIIO-2 price control framework (including outputs and uncertainty mechanisms) in terms of cost-efficient delivery for customers, the environment and asset resilience. Assist in the production of external annual reports that summarise and communicate the results of our assessment. Support the annual process to refine and develop our approach to enhance our data collection and reporting templates, including the consultative process with key stakeholders. Contribute to the development of assessment methodologies, and to assist in making robust recommendations, supported by the analysis of the benefits and costs (to consumers and network companies) of different options. Support and help motivate members of a team. This includes working closely with team leads and other Senior Managers to develop regulatory expertise and capability in the team. Strong project management skills to successfully deliver a programme of work in challenging timescales Desirable Criteria Confident with Excel to manage large datasets and to present analysis in appropriate and clear formats. Experience of regulatory reporting is desirable, but is not essential.
