Stress Engineer - SC Cleared
Vrieservice is seeking a qualified Stress Engineer in Rugby. The role is full‑time on‑site, 12‑month contract with a negotiable rate and is inside IR35 – only for umbrella contractors. SC Clearance is required.
* Analyse components for strength, plastic collapse, buckling, ratcheting, fatigue, rupture, natural frequency, heat transfer, shock and operational loads.
* Assist with weld type definition and strength/fatigue checks.
* Identify design deficiencies and propose improvements.
* Analyse safe lifting during build and installation.
* Build FE models, write analysis plans and produce reports.
* Object‑oriented design reviews, customer presentations and meetings.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.
* 7+ years of mechanical component analysis using FE techniques and hand calculations.
* Experience with FEA packages, preferably Abaqus and ANSYS.
* Knowledge of ASME and DNV Codes.
* Technical knowledge of rotating equipment, turbines preferred.
