Ongoing growth has created an opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team based in Fareham, supporting a portfolio of projects across Southern England.
Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the effective commercial management of façade-related works from pre-contract through to final account. This includes cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for façade packages.

Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and assist with tender analysis and procurement.

Support the preparation and negotiation of subcontractor packages and supplier orders.
*
Manage interim valuations, payment applications, variations, and final accounts.
*
Maintain accurate cost reporting and project financial records.
*
Identify and manage commercial risks, highlighting potential cost implications to senior management.
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on commercial matters.
*
Assist with monthly reporting and support the commercial close-out of projects.
*
Stay informed on relevant legislation, compliance requirements, and industry trends affecting façade works.
Candidate Profile
*
Essential:
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline.
*
Minimum 3–5 years of QS experience in the construction industry.
*
Exposure to external envelope or façade works (e.g. rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, glazing, SFS).
*
Familiarity with JCT contracts and subcontractor management.
*
Good numeracy, communication, and negotiation skills.
*
Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).
*
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:
*
Experience in façade remediation and understanding of post-Grenfell building regulations.
*
Knowledge of value engineering methods within façade design and procurement.
*
Previous experience working with both main contractors and specialist subcontractors.
