An established and growing specialist manufacturer within the joinery and bespoke interiors sector is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join their operations team. With a strong reputation for high-end craftsmanship and design, this company works across multiple sectors, including residential interiors, commercial fit-outs, and event production. They operate from a state-of-the-art 500m² production facility featuring an in-house design studio, CNC machine shop, spray booths, and an assembly area.
This is a hands-on and varied warehouse role, ideal for someone experienced in materials handling and stock control within a busy workshop or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Goods In/Out & Inventory Handling
- Receive and inspect deliveries, checking against purchase orders
- Safely unload, label, and store raw materials, components, and finished items
- Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring packaging and documentation are accurate
Stock Control & System Operation
- Monitor inventory levels and update internal teams on low stock
- Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular audits
- Use CMS and project management systems to track materials and components
Workshop & Logistics Support
- Move materials between departments to support ongoing production
- Assist joinery or site teams with loading/unloading for projects
- Help coordinate material delivery and collection with couriers or internal drivers
Health & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including manual handling procedures and PPE
- Report hazards or incidents in line with company policy
- Maintain clear walkways and safe material storage areas
Tool & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain register of basic tools and warehouse equipment
- Perform routine checks on equipment like pallet trucks or forklifts
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse or workshop role
- Strong understanding of warehouse and workshop operations
- Physically fit and confident with manual handling
- Process-driven with good organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience in joinery, carpentry, or construction manufacturing
- Forklift license (valid certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse or project management systems (training provided)
