Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN/SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in West Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs)/SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

We are looking for SEN/SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in West Yorkshire. At Targeted Provision, our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN/SEND Support Specialists. This role is perfect for qualified SEN/SEND teachers eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with various learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve their educational outlook.


What we offer our SEN/SEND Tutors:

1. Flexible part-time up to Full-time hours to suit your schedule
2. Occasional remote jobs and online teaching assignments, allowing work from home
3. Extensive CPD and upskilling opportunities, including access to the full Tes CPD suite
4. A dedicated SEN/SEND Support Team to ensure successful placements for both the young person and you
5. Invitation to join our tutor community for sharing best practices, resources, and tips
6. A role providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other referrals
7. Support in their educational and social-emotional journeys through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring


SEN/SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities:

1. Planning each teaching, tutoring, or mentoring session
2. Providing engaging, holistic sessions tailored to individual needs to support their educational and social-emotional development
3. Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress
4. Engaging with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
5. Working through a contract for service and paid via PAYE
6. Note: No set amount of work or expenses coverage; insurance covers your work for us
7. This is not a self-employed position

Minimum requirements:

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available if needed)
* Two professional references
* Legal right to work in the UK

It is essential to promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.
