Job Description
As a Navigator & Tailored Support Youth Worker, you will support children and young adults (CYA) who are victims of, at risk of, or involved in serious/youth violence. Support will mainly occur at ‘reachable moments’ in custody settings and hospital sites within Staffordshire.
Your main duties will include:
* Responding to notifications from custody settings at reachable moments where violence is involved (Northern Area Custody Facility & Watling Street Custody Facility).
* Responding to notifications from health settings at reachable moments involving injuries related to violence (Royal Stoke A&E, Queens Hospital Burton, and five additional Walk-in Centres across Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire).
* Identifying risk and support needs of engaged CYA and their families/significant others, then signposting/referring to specialist services to prevent future incidents.
* Completing dynamic risk assessments to ensure safety of CYA, families, and professionals.
* Developing and maintaining productive relationships with partner agencies, sharing information to safeguard individuals linked to violence, including police intelligence, safeguarding referrals, and Child Exploitation processes.
* Undertaking short-term one-to-one interventions with CYA requiring additional support, following Navigator involvement or external referrals.
* Creating collaborative action and risk reduction plans involving family and significant others, using a holistic, solution-focused approach, capturing outcomes with the Outcome Star tool.
* Conducting educational awareness training within partner agencies on youth violence and related harms (exploitation, knife crime, trafficking, criminality).
* Completing monitoring documentation within set deadlines to produce reports and case studies for funders and stakeholders, tracking progress against outcomes and KPIs.
Other responsibilities
* Attend supervision, appraisal, and relevant training sessions for professional development.
* Act as an ambassador for Catch22, promoting our values and participating in local publicity events.
* Work flexibly on a rota system, including some evenings and weekends.
* Perform other relevant duties as required, consistent with the post's grade.

Qualifications
* Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grade C or above.
* Relevant professional qualification in Youth/Community Work, Social Care, Health, or Education.
* Knowledge of issues affecting young people involved in or at risk of youth violence, including Child Exploitation.
* Understanding of Equality & Diversity issues.
* Knowledge of safeguarding policies for adults and children.
* Experience working directly with young people with diverse support needs, including violence-related issues.
Additional Information
* Salary: £20,881 (£25,752.86 pro rata)
* Contract: Permanent
* Locations: Various sites including Queens Hospital, Staffordshire Police Custody Suite, and Stafford County Hospital.
* This is a part-time role (30 hours/week), with a full-time option available.
* Flexible rota including evenings and weekends.
* Vetting: Enhanced DBS check required.
