Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs will be well implemented, unsafe conditions in current operations will be corrected, and new equipment will be designed for safe operations, all meeting the relevant standards in R&D and local regulations. That means you will ensure that facilities are well maintained, regulations/procedures are in place and implemented, risk/hazard assessments are conducted, accidents caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced, energy and waste are minimized, and engineering expertise is applied to optimize designs.
How you will contribute
You will:
* Support the Health, Safety & Environment cultural transformation at the R&D site
* Contribute to the implementation of HSE standards and programs, including Process Safety Management
* Engage and collaborate with onsite teams to develop a safety-oriented culture
* Present safety updates in meetings, townhalls, and safety campaigns
* Support R&D in achieving zero accidents and incidents
* Assist teams in identifying and reducing environmental impacts, such as carbon footprint
* Share knowledge and best practices with the global HSE community
* Maintain PPE availability for staff
* Manage change processes for R&D labs, pilot plants, and offices
* Assess risks for pilot plant equipment and operations
* Support safety assessments for new equipment and influence design and implementation stages
* Lead re-assessment of existing equipment and ensure safe systems of work are in place
* Review and improve safety procedures and maintain document control
* Identify and track corrective actions related to equipment safety
* Lead safety inductions and training sessions for new staff
* Review training records and support incident management, including maintaining incident reporting systems and supporting investigations
What you will bring

* NEBOSH qualification(s)
* Previous engineering experience or background preferred
* Passion for HSE programs
* Technical curiosity and continuous learning mindset
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Proactive problem identification and solution implementation
* Experience in project management and activity prioritization
* Excellent communication skills
