Nursery Manager
Huddersfield
Permanent – Full Time Position to start August
Overview
Reed Education are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent nursery in Huddersfield. Operating since 1986, the nursery provides 62 places for children aged 3 months to 5 years, alongside an out-of-school and holiday club. The setting is based within a spacious four-floor Victorian building.
Due to upcoming changes within the leadership team, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to take ownership and lead the nursery into its next phase.
The Role
As Nursery Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, education, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations across all rooms, ensuring consistency and quality
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of approximately 13 staff
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and EYFS requirements
- Manage staffing, including ratios, rotas, recruitment, and performance
- Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and external professionals
- Lead on inspection readiness and continuous quality improvement
- Foster a positive, high-performing team culture
About You
We are looking for a confident and resilient leader who can make a real impact.
- Proven experience in a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to challenge and influence constructively
- Confident decision-maker with an improvement-focused mindset
- Able to balance operational demands with team wellbeing
- Holds a Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years
- SENCO qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Salary & Benefits
- Circa £32,260 per annum (based on 40 hours / £15.51 per hour)
- Full-time preferred, with some flexibility for the right candidate
