You will maintain, test, fault-find, and repair fire alarm systems across several key sites. The role involves working within live environments, including healthcare and university estates, ensuring systems remain safe, compliant, and operational. Strong diagnostic ability, clear communication, and professionalism are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver planned preventative maintenance across multiple sites.
Support weekly fire alarm testing and statutory system checks.
Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and resolve faults promptly.
Complete inspections, system tests, and accurate compliance documentation.
Provide technical support to site teams and contractors.
Coordinate works safely in live healthcare and educational environments.
Assist with upgrades, modifications, and small works projects.
Follow relevant regulations including BS5839 and site-specific protocols.
Essential Requirements
Proven Fire Alarm Engineer experience on large or complex estates.
Experience with systems such as Advanced Electronics and Kentec (Gent beneficial; training available).
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Good understanding of BS5839 and related fire safety standards.
Effective communication and collaborative working style.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Requirements
Experience within healthcare or other critical environments.
Additional manufacturer training (e.g., Gent, Cooper).
