Job Description:
Position: Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Location: Omagh
Reporting to: Operations Director
As a key member of the Operations Management team, reporting to the Operations Director, you will oversee a manufacturing engineering department focused on operational excellence through lean practices. You will lead a team responsible for continuous improvement projects, process development, and ensuring KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale are met. This role is strategic in driving operational excellence.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage, lead, train, and develop a team including lead and senior manufacturing engineers by setting SMART objectives aligned with company priorities.
2. Own manufacturing attributes within the ERP system (Oracle – TMS), ensuring accurate material flow and kanban management.
3. Oversee new product and process development, including design for manufacture and production launches.
4. Ensure availability of standard work, jigs, and fixtures for safe and high-quality manufacturing.
5. Lead problem-solving initiatives and foster a lean culture.
6. Promote lean manufacturing tools within the Terex Business System, focusing on waste elimination, 5S, visual management, and other lean principles.
7. Justify savings in manufacturing spend, rework reduction, labor, warranty, and waste disposal, as well as purchase price savings.
8. Participate in the HSE steering team to promote safe working practices, lead investigations, and improvements aligned with the Zero Harm vision.
9. Meet KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale, including developing reward and recognition initiatives.
10. Collaborate with operations to optimize assembly flow lines for efficiency and capacity.
11. Utilize lean principles and problem-solving tools to identify and eliminate variation and quality issues, working cross-functionally across departments.
12. Support visual management initiatives across all sites.
13. Review and improve processes continuously and undertake additional duties as required.
14. Ensure compliance with site rules, regulations, and policies.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role.
* Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate large teams.
* Experience with manufacturing environments and change management.
* Practical knowledge of lean tools and techniques.
* Experience coaching and implementing lean principles.
* Knowledge of cutting, welding, and fabrication is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
* Interpersonal skills with influence at all levels.
* Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of CAD.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Adaptability in a dynamic environment.
