Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Qualification in a relevant building or engineering discipline (e.g., HNC/HND in Building Services, Fire Engineering, or similar).
* NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent
* Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Fire Engineers).
Desirable criteria
* Recognised fire safety qualifications as per HTM 05-01 guidance.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in a fire safety role, preferably in a healthcare or similarly complex environment
* Proven experience in managing or coordinating fire safety schemes / projects.
* Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and healthcare-specific guidance such as HTM 05-01, HTM 02 and HTM 03 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
* Experience in liaising with external bodies, such as the Fire and Rescue Service
Communication & Relationship Skills
Essential criteria
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
Analytical & Judgement
Essential criteria
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in relation to fire safety risk assessments, training needs, and alarm activations
Planning & Organising
Essential criteria
* Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, ensuring that deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently
* Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and coordinate cross-departmental fire safety activities
