We are currently recruiting for an Bid Manager to join our experienced Strategic, Distribution, Marketing and Corporate Affairs (SDMC) team here at RSA on a hybrid basis.
Your role
This role will enable distribution expansion and will support the delivery of our strategic growth priorities by implementing a robust and structured approach to our broker bid and customer tender responses.
Working alongside Strategic Sales and Distribution, the role holder will track and manage bids, tender responses and major Requests for Quotations across our Large & Complex Commercial, and Specialty Lines businesses.
Key Accountabilities:
* Managing the end to end Bid process for key customers across our Commercial and Specialty Lines businesses, to ultimately support the delivery of New Business and Retention Outperformance.
* Tracking the results of, and obtaining feedback on, all bids and tender responses to perform suitable gap analysis.
* Building good working relationships with cross-functional areas to educate on the importance of executing with rigour, and to time.
* Supporting in key external meetings as SME.
* Providing quality operational planning support to Strategic Sales teams to ensure all target portfolio opportunities are maximised.
* Gathering and analysing market insight to support the development of our broker value proposition to enable distribution expansion.
* Management of YPO and CCS Frameworks including Operational Budgets.
* Ownership of the Bid Library, with responsibility for ensuring templates and material are kept up to date, and that best practice on self service is shared across the business.
* Management of the Strategic Proposals partnership, including Operational Budget, with responsibility for ensuring the delivery of an appropriate ROI.
* Owner of the Pipeline Triage Forum, this includes coordinating submissions, minutes and actions, as well as assisting the CL and SL Sales Directors in the decision making of submissions from SAMs and UW leaders.
About You
You are a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for winning work through compelling proposals. A background in bid management would be advantageous—ideally within the insurance, financial services, or professional services sectors but this is not essential.
You will have experience in creating persuasive, compliant, and client-focused responses to tenders and RFQ's. You excel in managing multiple stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and driving bid timelines from initiation through to submission.
Your strong communication skills allow you to collaborate confidently with technical teams, sales, and senior leaders, turning complex solutions into clear, impactful narratives.
