Group Leader – Pudsey Group (Changing Lives Service)

Location: Crawshaw Academy, Robin Lane, Pudsey, LS28 9HU
Hours: 4 hours per week (Thursdays 6–9pm delivery + 1 hour planning/admin) – Term time only (39 weeks/year)
Salary: £13.21 per hour
Contract: Until 31st March 2026 (subject to funding review)

Join People in Action as a Group Leader for our Pudsey Club, where you’ll create inclusive, fun, and empowering sessions that help members build friendships, independence, and new skills.
About the Role:
As a Group Leader for our Pudsey Club, you’ll be at the heart of our Changing Lives Service, which runs six social clubs across Leeds. These clubs give members a safe and welcoming space to meet friends, try new activities, and build independence.
In this role, you’ll be:
* Plan and deliver an inclusive, member-led activity programme (updated every 12 weeks).
* Lead and motivate a small team of staff and volunteers.
* Encourage participation by supporting members in a person-centred way, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
* Ensure safety by creating and following risk assessments.
* Manage admin tasks including attendance records, subscriptions, and monitoring outcomes for our funders.
What we are looking for:
You’ll be an approachable, positive individual who enjoys working with people and helping them thrive.
* At least 6 months’ experience supporting autistic people, learning disabled people, or other vulnerable groups.
* Experience leading and facilitating activities in a person-centred way.
* Strong communication skills to work with members, carers, staff, and partners.
* Ability to encourage friendships and confidence in others.
* A flexible, team-focused approach and commitment to safeguarding.
* Experience completing and using risk assessments.
* Understanding of the Social Model of Disability.
