Job Opportunity: Social Worker (Fixed Term/Secondment)
1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for up to 12 months
Internal applicants interested in a secondment should discuss with their line manager the suitability of such a move.
Following an internal secondment, we are seeking a qualified social worker registered with SWE to join the GHC social care service.
As a social care specialist, you will oversee the GHC social care services in the West locality, mainly covering Gloucester and the Forest of Dean. Your role will include supervising, guiding, and supporting social workers and the wider GHC MH teams, as well as fostering relationships with Adult Social Care teams and ICB colleagues.
An understanding of Adult Social Care priorities, the Community Mental Health Transformation programme, and local services is essential.
You will participate in recruiting, retaining, and developing the Mental Health social care workforce, including working with apprenticeships, students, and the ASYE programme.
The post requires a visible leadership presence, confidence in identifying development opportunities, and change management skills. Enthusiasm, willingness, and self-reflection are key qualities.
