MES Engineer
Main purpose of the job
This role will be part of the plant technical team supporting the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for new project launches and current production processes across multiple Artifex Elmdon plants.
Main responsibilities
1. Reading and fault finding in Sorion scripts.
2. Making process additions or alterations in Sorion.
3. Understanding the full Sorion system and changes within it.
4. Managing S21 (BoMs) within Sorion.
5. Maintaining and backing up Sorion scripts.
6. Creating and implementing Sorion working sets via Change Requests.
7. Setting up scanning and printing systems.
8. Understanding the Orion Database.
9. Fault finding in Siemens PLC code and supporting PLC-related issues.
10. Manual robot movements and fault recovery.
11. Interpreting error messages related to robotics.
12. Managing vision system settings like sensors and cameras.
13. Fault finding and updating PTL (Pick to Light) scripts.
14. Understanding and managing Kepware systems with Sorion.
15. Fault finding and resolving issues in Eaton Systems, including programming new part numbers.
Preferred skills and experience
1. Extensive experience in automotive and engineering environments.
2. Robotic movement, recovery, and fault finding skills (ABB, Nachi, Fanuc).
3. PLC programming and fault finding expertise.
4. Knowledge of Sorion, Orion, Kepware systems.
5. ISO/TS 16949, IATF16949, VDA standards experience or training.
6. Ability to apply PFMEA to risk management.
7. Knowledge of vision, camera, and sensor systems (Keyence, Omron).
8. Experience with Eaton System programming.
9. Familiarity with ECR and PCR processes.
10. Understanding of practical problem solving methodologies like Six Sigma.
11. Experience with waterjet machines and robotics.
12. Knowledge of key control documents like PFMEA and Control Plans.
13. Understanding of launch processes and gateways.
