Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment are representing a world leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. Our client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical and business-focused legal advice to our business and corporate services partners globally.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters, supporting day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Help manage the organization’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal support for their activities.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and specialized legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical, business-focused advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Make presentations and write articles on important legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house.
* Expert legal skills, capable of leading complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management mindset with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing transaction and commercial agreements across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
* Ability to balance the needs of a growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
