Job Overview
As the Deputy General Manager (Clinical) at Barchester Healthcare, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care in one of their care homes. You will work closely with the General Manager, taking on leadership duties in their absence, and leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible quality of life for the residents. Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and support to the General Manager, stepping in as Acting Duty Manager when required.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team and motivate staff to maintain high care standards.
* Ensure compliance with regulations, monitor clinical practice, conduct audits and supervise clinical practice.
* Develop and deliver strategies to improve quality of care, including safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
* Work two on‑shift duties on the care home floor and 15 hours of supernumerary time.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN or RMN) with current NMC registration.
* Teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification.
* Experience supporting residents with varied health needs.
* Track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments.
* Experience in HR, budgeting and preceptoring newly qualified nurses.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; compassionate, resilient and determined.
