Job overview
Are you a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a Band Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced acute hospital setting. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in occupational therapy who thrives in a patient-centred environment, focused on supporting older adults and those with complex medical needs.
As part of a multi-professional team, you will identify and undertake comprehensive assessments of needs and deliver interventions to optimise recovery for older people during their hospital stay. You will also provide appropriate adaptations to help them return to their home environment. The Occupational Therapist's work is highly valued by the local multidisciplinary team and the wider healthcare system.
Main duties of the job:
* Provide high-quality, safe, and effective Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy services to older adults.
* Work collaboratively with patients and their carers to assess, goal plan, and treat patients to maximise independence and quality of life.
* Supervise and teach recently qualified Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students, and therapy assistants.
* Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit, and research projects.
* Contribute to the team’s extended hours and seven-day working roster to enhance access and delivery of rehabilitation services for older adults.
