Team Leader - Childrens Residential Home Location: Bagnall, Stoke-on-Trent ST9 3-Bed Childrens Home Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off Salary: £33,114 per annum (inclusive of sleep-ins - £45 per sleep) Start Date: ASAP About Us We specialise in supporting children and young people with EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties), alongside young people with ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs. The Role We are looking for an experienced and child-focused Team Leader to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You will play a key role in leading shifts, guiding and mentoring the staff team, and ensuring young people receive consistent, high-quality care in line with the Childrens Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards. As Team Leader, you will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people feel supported, understood and empowered. You will promote a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach, ensuring routines, boundaries and positive behaviour strategies are applied consistently. You will also contribute to care planning, risk management and progress monitoring, ensuring each young persons individual needs, education and emotional wellbeing remain at the centre of practice. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone confident in shift leading, decision making and supporting staff development while maintaining high safeguarding standards. Key Responsibilities Lead shifts and provide direction to Residential Support Workers Promote a therapeutic, child-centred approach Safeguard and protect young people at all times Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and review reports Liaise with social workers, education providers and external professionals Ensure the home remains compliant and well organised Essential Requirements Full UK Driving Licence Level 3 or Level 4 in Children & Young People (or working towards) Minimum 2 years residential childcare experience Experience supporting young people with EBD, ASC, ADHD or SEMH Strong safeguarding knowledge Ability to confidently lead shifts Interview Process Initial phone call with Bev * Face-to-face or MS Teams interview * Decision usually made the same day Onboarding can begin as soon as the successful candidate is ready to start.
