Due to significant growth including the opening of its first day house in September 2026, Marlborough College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and high-calibre Teacher of History and/or Politics to join its thriving and successful department at this exciting time.
This role offers the opportunity to teach at one of the UK’s leading co-educational boarding schools, educating pupils aged 13 to 18.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people. You will deliver engaging, intellectually challenging lessons that foster curiosity, independence of thought and a lifelong love of learning.
Applications are welcomed from specialists in History or Politics, with a willingness to teach both subjects.
The Role
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Contribute to the design and delivery of an ambitious, innovative and engaging curriculum
* Play an active role in delivering key College-wide academic initiatives
* Identify and create opportunities to extend and enrich pupils’ learning through talks, visits, trips and other appropriate activities
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to pedagogical development and to the quality assurance of teaching and learning
* Work collaboratively and confidently within a strong and supportive department
In addition to teaching responsibilities, all members of the Common Room are expected to play a significant role in the pastoral and co-curricular life of a thriving full boarding school.
