Job Title: Support Worker - Children's Residential Home
Working Hour: Full-time, including shifts, weekends, and sleep-in duties

Service Users: Children with Learning Disabilities (LD)
Qualifications Required: Diploma Level 4 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (advantageous but not essential)
Experience in Years: Experience in working with children, particularly with learning disabilities or additional needs (desirable)

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual who is passionate about working with children with learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a commitment to providing high-quality care that promotes the well-being, growth, and independence of young people.

Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being at all times.
Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as required.
Support children in educational and recreational activities, both within the home and in the community.
Develop positive and trusting relationships with children, promoting emotional development and self-confidence.
Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic care.
Monitor and document children's progress, behaviours, and changes in needs.
Support children in managing their emotions and behaviours using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities or additional needs, is desirable.
Diploma Level 4 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent is advantageous but not essential.
Caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with children.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours professionally and calmly.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Full driving licence, including business insurance.
