Are you passionate about helping children and young people reach their full potential? Teaching Personnel are looking for dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistants to join our team, supporting students in SEN schools across the Portsmouth area.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and other support staff to help pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You’ll be an integral part of creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
* Assist in the delivery of tailored learning plans and behaviour strategies.
* Support students in building confidence, independence, and social skills.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals.
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, or youth settings preferred).
* A calm, patient, and caring nature.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel).
