Job Description
This position serves as functional tax support across the globe specifically in relation to Global Mobility and Employment Taxes. The role is responsible for supporting the Global Employment Tax Lead in providing the necessary tax compliance, tax reporting and administration and tax planning support to the region. It is expected that the job functions will encompass approximately 40% tax compliance, 40% tax reporting and administration, 15% tax research and planning and 5% accounting assistance, but this may vary.
Responsibilities
The requirements of this role in relation to tax compliance and reporting and administration include, but are not limited to, supporting the Global Employment Tax Lead with the following:
* Research, planning, and detailed review of contractual provisions in bid tenders for the purposes of determining payroll tax of anticipated transactions and operations at both the US and non-US level.
* Support Global Mobility Department by providing low cost solutions/advice related to rotator assignments/movements via dashboards including initial assignments, identification of permanent establishments, proposals to rotate staff based on time in country, etc.
* Contribute to relationship with 3rd party service provider responsible for calculating monthly payroll tax exposures and liaise with Finance Department for monthly accruals, exposure analysis and tracking.
* Ensures all ongoing monthly compliance steps are completed.
* Contribute to relationship with 3rd party service provider responsible for expatriate tax services and perform and coordinate such tasks as needed:
* Ensure that the company and employee have been given due guidance related to business case, compliance, international taxation and cost mitigation, as well as policy application in all policy types including: Long Term International Assignments, Short Term International Assignments, Cross Border Commuter Assignments, Cross Border Travelers, International Transfers, and Local Plus moves.
* Help develop international assignment cost estimates.
* Liaise with assignees to ensure timely filing of tax documents and maintain tax calendars.
* Support the annual tax equalization reconciliation process for the expatriate employees.
* Ensuring stakeholders abide by OII policies and identify process gaps.
* Support with creation of new policies and processes and maintaining existing policies and processes.
* Support with special projects and improvement initiatives as they arise.
Accounting Assistance includes, but not limited to:
* Assistance with reconciling Balance Sheet accruals with 3rd-party payroll tax liability reports.
* Determining local country direct payroll liabilities and FAS5 accruals.
* Other duties as they arise.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
* Min 5 Highers at grade B or above
* Undergraduate degree at grade 2:1
