Job Summary:
* The post holder will demonstrate courageous and critical thinking and be a compassionate, committed, and experienced nurse acting within their NMC professional boundaries.
* The post holder will ensure safe, competent clinical decision-making and provide expert care, including initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation for patients of all ages presenting with acute and chronic illnesses within general practice.
* They will collaborate with the general practice team to meet patient needs, support policy and procedures, and provide nurse leadership as required.

Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice:
* Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments and care for patients with undifferentiated diagnoses.
* Examine and assess patient needs from physiological and psychological perspectives, and plan care accordingly.
* Initiate and interpret diagnostic tests or investigations.
* Manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating drug- and non-drug-based treatments into management plans.
* Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately, including emergency care.
* Support health promotion and self-care strategies.
* Refer patients to secondary care or other services as appropriate.
* Prescribe and review medications, ensuring therapeutic effectiveness and adherence, within scope of practice.
* Provide medication information, including side-effects and interactions.

Edgworth Medical Centre is a small practice based in Edgworth Bolton, with a branch at Egerton & Dunscar Health Centre, serving 4,000 patients.
Our team includes 5 part-time salaried GPs, an ANP, practice nurse, HCA, and collaborative work with Turton Primary Care Network for extended services.

Job responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General or Children's Nurse with the NMC, with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
* Completed advanced healthcare professional training for at least 2 years.
* Non-medical independent prescribing course.
* Cytology smear-taking certification.
* Reproductive healthcare (family planning) and sexual health courses.
* Faculty of Family Planning diploma for Implanon and IUD/IUS procedures.
* Knowledge of menopause management.
Experience
* Experience in women's health, including menopause.
* Primary care experience.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience with various health and social care organizations.
