Job Opportunity: Buyer in Doncaster
TXM is partnering with a well-established international rolling stock company seeking a Buyer for a long-term contract based in Doncaster.
This role is suitable for candidates from engineering or manufacturing backgrounds who are proactive, use initiative, and are capable of making informed decisions. Responsibilities include conducting supplier audits, maintaining quality standards, and collaborating with the supply chain team to source goods and services aligned with stakeholder and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work within the Supply Chain Team to source goods and services supporting internal and client needs.
2. Collaborate with Engineering teams to analyze Bills of Materials (BoMs) and develop supply chain solutions.
3. Understand and integrate systems and processes beyond just Supply Chain, including Safety, Quality, Commercial, and Engineering.
4. Support multiple commodity areas, offering knowledge and assistance across functions.
5. Negotiate and implement strategies at the part, commodity, or service level, ensuring appropriate contractual terms.
6. Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes to ensure compliance.
Candidate Requirements:
1. At least 2 years of experience as a Buyer.
2. Experience in manufacturing or engineering industries such as automotive, rail, aerospace, or plant operations.
3. Proficient in IT and understanding of relevant systems.
4. Strong negotiation skills.
5. Self-motivated and driven internally.
