Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a dedicated Facilities Manager with a focus on campus experience and security to lead and enhance our front-of-house and security operations across multiple sites. This pivotal role ensures our campus remains safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors alike.
Our Campus Experience & Security Team operates 24/7, 365 days a year, delivering not only safety and vigilance but also exceptional customer service to all our customers.
As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for shaping service delivery, managing teams, and driving improvements that support the University’s strategic goals - making a real impact on the day-to-day experience of our community.
To succeed as Facilities Manager, you will have a proven track record of hands‑on management in a fast‑paced environment, working on your own initiative and providing expert advice regarding security matters. You will also play a key role in ensuring the University’s compliance with the forthcoming Martyn’s Law legislation.
This role would suit individuals with a track record in creating a culture of exceptional delivery and managing change. Strong communication skills will be essential as the role includes extensive partnerships with our neighbouring higher education institutions.

Salary and benefits
£44,247 rising to £50,379 per annum, Grade 7 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

Contract
Permanent contract, full‑time 35 hours per week, on‑site based, Mon‑Sun (5 out of 7 days) flexible start and finish time. Closing date: Sunday 30 November 2025, interview date: 9 December 2025.
