The Role
As a Receptionist / Administrator you’ll be the professional first point of contact for the Haslar site, helping to create a welcoming, organised and well‑run environment while providing essential administrative support that enables colleagues to focus on delivering critical work.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be the first friendly face people see on site, welcoming visitors, answering queries and helping things run smoothly. Alongside reception duties, you’ll support with site administration such as organising meeting rooms, keeping records up to date, taking notes or minutes when needed, and pitching in with whatever helps the team stay organised and on track.
Your responsibilities
* Providing a professional and welcoming front‑of‑house reception service
* Managing visitors, enquiries and incoming calls, ensuring messages are passed on accurately
* Supporting site administration activities, including maintaining records and organising meeting rooms
* Taking notes or minutes at meetings when required
* Proactively supporting the wider site team by identifying tasks that need doing
* Assisting with security‑related administrative tasks as the role develops
Essential experience
* Experience in a customer‑facing or reception environment
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with a wide range of people
* Proven administrative skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
* Ability to organise workload effectively and manage multiple tasks
* Confident using Microsoft Word and Outlook
* Proactive and self‑sufficient approach to work with a strong attention to detail
Desirable qualifications
* Business administration or customer service qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3
Working hours and shifts
This role is 37 hours per week based at the Haslar site. Shift patterns are alternating half‑day shifts of 07:30–11:30 and 11:30–15:30, working alongside another receptionist.
