Liaising with the maintenance and operational teams you will develop maintenance job plans that are accurate and ready for work scheduling and execution. This will include people, skillsets requirements, estimated job duration, materials or parts requirements, special tools/equipment, and developing work instructions which include essential safety requirements.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

* Manage and request spares, materials and services for maintenance activities, ensuring accurate specifications and building bills of materials for critical and repeat‑failure assets.
* Review all newly raised corrective work to confirm appropriate priority and readiness for planning.
* Proactively plan asset downtime to minimise operational disruption and maintain treatment continuity.
* Create, update and improve the library of maintenance job plans, adapting them with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to enhance asset reliability.
* Drive continuous improvement within the planning and scheduling function, supporting the development of executable schedules and contributing to regular short‑ and long‑term planning meetings.
* Coordinate required asset availability or shutdowns for proactive maintenance and report on missed opportunities to support ongoing process improvement.

Technical Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you will need to be qualified to either HNC or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation engineering discipline and have significant experience gained through either a time‑served apprenticeship or hands‑on experience. You'll have a detailed engineering background, initiative, and attention to detail together with experience of maintenance across a water or other similar industry. You will also have:

* Strong maintenance expertise with the ability to accurately estimate labour, materials and skill requirements, supported by solid knowledge of plant operations, equipment, and Health & Safety processes.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a good working understanding of SAP, MARS ways of working, work orders and maintenance planning principles.
* Skilled in root cause and failure analysis, applying logical, efficient planning to maximise resource use and asset availability.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teams as well as independently.
