Senior Accountant M&A Experience / Fixed Term Contract / Blackburn – Lancashire Area / Immediate Start / Salary £60,000 – £80,000 + Benefits / Group Organisation
NC Associates are working in partnership with a group organisation based in Lancashire, seeking a Senior Accountant on a contract basis to support the MD and Senior Management Team in delivering robust financial information. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) process, providing financial analysis and advice to mitigate risks. The role involves managing all financial aspects within the Mergers & Acquisitions process.
The successful candidate will ensure the financial health and stability of the organisation, supporting internal business partners in achieving their strategic and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts across all entities to support the company’s growth objectives.
* Provide cash flow projections, monitor working capital, and ensure the availability of funds for operational needs.
* Consolidate management accounts and manage month/year-end processes.
* Enhance internal controls, financial procedures, and ways of working to improve agility.
* Collaborate with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and auditors, to communicate financial performance and support fundraising efforts.
* Assist in long-term financial planning, including investment strategies, mergers, and acquisitions.
* Identify financial risks and opportunities, developing strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
Skills and Experience
* 5+ years PQE / Qualified by experience as an accountant.
* Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role within a growing group business.
* Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and multi-entity reporting requirements.
* Effective leadership skills and a committed team player.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to network comfortably across the business.
* Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent written and verbal English skills; additional languages are advantageous.
* Flexible approach, positive attitude, and high attention to detail.
* Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Hands-on approach with a desire to delve into detail.
