Purchase Ledger Manager

We’re looking for an experienced, proactive Purchase Ledger Manager to lead our Purchase Ledger and Cash Processing teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of critical financial operations within a fast-paced business environment.

Your role as Purchase Ledger Manager role at phs:
1. Lead, motivate and develop the Purchase Ledger and Cash Processing teams, including one-to-ones, performance management, development and coaching
2. Oversee day-to-day operations, acting as the main point of escalation for queries and issues
3. Manage system interfaces and resolve errors, ensuring smooth processing
4. Review and approve payments, supplier changes, and ensure compliance with our policies
5. Perform regular reviews of aged creditors, debit balances, and on-hold invoices, ensuring timely resolution
6. Complete monthly reconciliations and support period-end close processes
7. Monitor invoice volumes, approvals, and team performance to maintain efficiency
8. Ensure supplier accounts are regularly reconciled and processes are consistently followed
9. Produce summary reports and liaising with colleagues and wider business stakeholders
10. Deliver training on systems and processes to new team members and business users
The ideal candidate for a Purchase Ledger Manager at phs will have:
11. Proven experience managing a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable function
12. Strong leadership and team management skills
13. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capability
14. Confidence with IT and financial systems (e.g. Eyeshare, Lawson, Agresso or similar)
15. A proactive, organised approach, able to prioritise effectively and drive improvements
16. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
