Location: Godalming, Surrey | Full-time | School hours 8:30am-3:30pm
Milk Education are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated speech & language therapist to support children and young people with autism and associated learning difficulties within a specialist educational setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced practitioners and newly qualified professionals looking to develop their skills within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with therapists, educators, and other professionals to provide high-quality, person-centred support.
About the Role
You will be working in a specialist setting supporting students aged 7–19 with autism spectrum conditions and additional needs. The provision focuses on creating a safe, positive, and structured environment where each young person is supported to achieve their full potential.
The setting takes a holistic approach, centred around three key areas:

2. Independence
3. Inclusion
Main duties and expectations:
4. You will receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual young person’s therapeutic and mental health needs.
5. You will lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions continue to meet the needs of the YP and are consistent with the provisions detailed in their therapy plan.
6. You will manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales.
7. Ability to work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting, is essential.
About You
8. Experience working with children or young people with autism (ASD), ideally in an educational or SEN setting
9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team
10. Strong communication and organisational skills
11. A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach
12. Relevant qualification (or working towards) in a therapeutic or mental health discipline (desirable).
