About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join the Pathology Team at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Our laboratory is small but strategically located next to St Johns Wood train station, offering convenience and accessibility. The lab provides a multi‑disciplinary repertoire in a moderately paced environment. Working hours are on a rotational basis between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm on weekdays, plus occasional Saturday shifts (paid in addition to the standard 37.5 hours). This structure supports a healthy work‑life balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive and book samples into the LIMS (WinPath) system.
* Handle client queries via email and telephone.
* Support testing performed onsite (Haematology, Biochemistry, Transfusion) and ensure timely referral of other samples to the main laboratory (Halo).
* Ensure urgent and specialist specimens are processed appropriately.
Desirable: Previous experience in a laboratory or sample reception environment.
