Service Advisor
Salary: £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)

Hours: Full-time – 37 hours (08:30 – 17:00)
About the Role
Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking 2 Service Advisors to support the Urgent Emergency Care (UEC) service across multiple locations: Queens Medical Centre (Nottingham), Kings Mill Hospital (Mansfield), Bassetlaw Hospital (Worksop). Service Advisors will be based in Transfer of Care Hubs – multidisciplinary environments where professionals coordinate patient discharges from acute hospital settings. The role involves providing administrative and system support to ensure decisions and pathways are recorded accurately and communicated effectively. Flexibility to work across the county is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accurately record discharge triage decisions and associated support plans
2. Maintain up-to-date documentation and real-time spreadsheets
3. Upload and manage documentation within the Mosaic case management system
4. Respond to phone calls and emails professionally and promptly
5. Liaise with NHS colleagues, internal teams, and external agencies
6. Support Team Managers by updating shift rotas, Microsoft Teams schedules, and SharePoint sites
7. Provide high-quality information and signposting to service users, carers, and professionals
8. Triage referrals and assist with prioritisation based on assessed needs
9. Assist in meeting service performance targets and maintaining partnership arrangements
10. Attend meetings and contribute to service improvements
11. Handle complaints in line with council policy
Experience & Knowledge
12. Experience working in health or social care environments, especially within hospital settings (desirable)
13. Experience managing and prioritising administrative tasks independently
14. Strong understanding of local authority social care functions
15. Familiarity with safeguarding, data protection, and adult social care frameworks
16. Experience using IT systems including case management platforms (e.g., Mosaic)
17. Awareness of national social care policy drivers (e.g., Think Local, Act Personal) is beneficial
Skills & Competencies
18. Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and SharePoint
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
20. High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
21. Strong organisational and time management skills
22. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
23. Confident in engaging with professionals and service users
24. Commitment to excellent customer care
25. Works in a way that empowers service users and supports independence
Additional Requirements
26. Must be flexible and able to travel to different hospital locations within Nottinghamshire
27. Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new systems and processes
28. Must adhere to Nottinghamshire County Council’s Code of Conduct and customer service standards
29. A good general education, including GCSEs (A–C) in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications
