Offer description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: New Options School - Guildford, Surrey GU2 4DU

Salary: Up to £45,000.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start date: September 2026 (maybe earlier depending on business needs)

UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship

As part of our continued growth, Options Autism is proud to be opening a brand-new specialist school in Guildford, designed to meet the needs of pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.

We’re now looking for an exceptional and passionate SEN Teacher to join us in September 2026 and play a key role in shaping this exciting new provision from day one.

About the Role

If you’re ready to teach in a setting where creativity, compassion, and flexibility are encouraged — and where every child is truly seen and supported — we’d love to hear from you.

As an SEN Teacher in our school, you'll have the autonomy to be creative and the support to make a real impact — both academically and emotionally — on the pupils in your care. You’ll develop personalised learning experiences, help pupils reach meaningful milestones, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on whole-child development.

You’ll also play a key role in building the school’s culture and routines, helping to create a nurturing, inclusive environment from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

* Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
* Using innovative teaching methods to inspire curiosity and progress
* Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
* Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress — both academic and personal
* Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists
* Collaborating with families and external professionals to create holistic support plans
* Contributing to a positive school culture built on mutual respect, safety and inclusion

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for SEN education, who thrives in a dynamic, pupil-focused environment and is excited by the idea of building something new.

You’ll be a reflective practitioner with a flexible approach, ready to support pupils who learn differently and need something extra from their teacher — not just knowledge, but patience, creativity, and care.

Essential:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Educated to degree level
* Strong understanding of autism and/or complex needs
* Ability to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive, team-focused attitude

Desirable:

* Experience working in an SEN or specialist school environment
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice or therapeutic approaches
* Experience with alternative communication strategies
